The Children's Advocacy Center of North and Northwest Cook County (CAC) is excited to announce a partnership with the Hoffman Estates Police Department for its highly anticipated Champions for Children 5K. This year's event, with a delightful donut-themed twist, will take place on Saturday, June 24th, at The Children's Advocacy Center in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
The Champions for Children 5K Donut Dash combines fitness, fun, and philanthropy in support of the most vulnerable members of our community – children. This unique race not only raises crucial funds but also spreads awareness about child advocacy, protection, and overall well-being.
"We are honored to be a part of the Champions for Children 5K Donut Dash, " stated Chief Kasia Cawley of the Hoffman Estates Police Department. "This event exemplifies the power of collaboration and community involvement in creating a safe and nurturing environment for our children. Together with the Children's Advocacy Center, we can make a lasting impact and ensure that every child receives the support they deserve."
In a sweet partnership, Peterson's Bakery, a beloved local Hoffman Estates business, is sponsoring the donuts for this year's event. Participants will have the chance to indulge in delicious mini donuts at a designated station on the racecourse. The Donut Dash promises to be a memorable experience that combines the joy of running with the delight of savoring delectable treats.
"We are thrilled to introduce the Donut Dash as part of the Champions for Children 5K," said Melanie Pignotti, Chief Executive Office of the Children's Advocacy Center. "This new theme adds a fun and tasty twist to the event, capturing the spirit of community engagement and support for children in need. We are grateful to Peterson's Bakery for their generous sponsorship, as they share our commitment to making a difference in the lives of children."
Funds raised through the event will directly benefit the Children's Advocacy Center, ensuring they can continue providing free essential services to children who have experienced abuse and their families. These services include forensic interviews, advocacy, and mental health services, contributing to the healing of every child served.
The event will also feature live entertainment, comfort dogs, first responder vehicles for children to interact with, and vendor booths, creating a festive atmosphere for participants and spectators. Local businesses and sponsors have rallied behind this cause, exemplifying their dedication to the well-being of children in our community.
Registration for the Champions for Children 5K Donut Dash is now open, and participants are encouraged to sign up early to secure their spot and support this important cause. To register or learn more about the CAC, please visit cachelps.org.
