Become a Guardian of Hope

When you make a legacy gift to Children’s Advocacy Center of North and Northwest Cook County (CAC), you become a Guardian of Hope and leave a lasting impact on CAC. Your generosity enables us to continue to bring hope, help and healing to young abuse survivors and their families for years to come.

Ways to give include:

  • Designating CAC as a beneficiary of your estate

  • Designating CAC as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy

  • Making a Required Minimum Distribution gift from your IRA

  • Outright gifts of stock, property or other assets

In the year preceding his death in October 2025, CAC board member Herb Horn relentlessly pursued the creation of Guardians of Hope. Herb and his wife Bonnie had been longtime supporters of CAC. Herb served on the Board of Directors for over fifteen years, most recently on the Executive Board as Chair and Immediate Past Chair. His leadership, along with Bonnie's and his passion for CAC's mission and this legacy society, made them the perfect choice for inaugural Guardians of Hope Ambassadors.

While Herb's presence is deeply missed, his spirit is a guiding force. Bonnie continues as a Guardians of Hope Ambassador and knows first-hand how important it is to prioritize the people and causes you love and want to support, even when you're gone.
